Peter Farmer has had a lifelong interest in all aspects of natural history photography, particularly with regard to animal behaviour. His career was in cancer research, mostly working for the Medical Research Council, and he has now retired to an Emeritus Professorship in the University of Leicester.
He is based in Rutland, but has travelled widely to many parts of the world. His favourite photographic locations are Africa, South America, the Arctic and Antarctic regions, and of course the UK.
He is a member of the Nature Group of the Royal Photographic Society and joined the NPP in 2013. He was awarded an ARPS in Natural History in 2015 with a Panel on Animal Behaviour in Sub-Saharan Africa.
